Getting to know Mrs. Wheeler

I have a supportive and loving family. My husband works in the installation of fire sprinklers and is a sports fanatic. We have two sons, Austin (17) and Ethan (14). They are obsessed with their games and YouTube. We all love Disney and try to visit the house of the mouse every two years during Winter Break. I am addicted to traveling and can't get enough. When I am not traveling or teaching I love to plan more travel and watch movies and snuggle with my boys. Last year we finished all the Star Wars and Harry Potter movies.

What is Wheeler Mode?

Sometimes everyone needs a bit of a relaxed environment in which to get caught up with completing some assignments. When the schedule allows for me to have a “clean up day” for the students to get caught up on missing tasks I like to pair it with Wheeler mode. This is something I created similar to coffee shop vibes. Students are able to listen to school appropriate music while working and keeping on task. In addition, students with acceptable conduct for the week receive a drink and sometimes a snack. It gets quite expensive treating that many kiddos. During the holidays I served hot chocolate and talk about hard work being their barista! Lately, I have been serving Capri Sun and Kool-Aides.
